A
celebrated virtuoso of the flamenco guitar who has been voted one of the top
three guitarists in the world by US magazine Guitar Player, Juan Martín learned his art in the land of its
origin, Andalucia in southern Spain. Flamenco
is immediately associated with Spain but it took many influences from places
much further away to form the music that emerged in Andalucia some 200 years
ago. In keeping with this cosmopolitan
spirit, Martin brings to the final night of the Eastbourne Festival, musicians
and performers not only from his native Spain but from India, Greece, Ireland
and the Lebanon, for his celebrated Musica Alhambra show.
